PartyPoker has recently unveiled their newest site brand ambassador as the four-time world super middleweight world boxing champion Carl Froch. Froch has signed up to become the newest PartyPoker brand ambassador to represent the popular online poker site at live tournaments and events throughout the international poker calendar.

Froch, who hails from Nottingham, has won 33 of his 35 fights throughout his career (with 24 knockouts) and was once called “Britain’s best pound for pound boxer”. PartyPoker are hoping his mass crowd-pleasing appeal and gregarious personality will attract boxing fans as new poker players to the site – they’re continuing the boxing flavour with re-named tournaments on the site, like “The Jab”, with its featherweight and heavyweight buy-in categories.

To break into his new role, Froch is taking on 99 PartyPoker players in a special one-off online tournament with a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, held on December 13th.

His recent statement shows he is taking his new role seriously: “I’ve been mentally preparing for this tournament just the same as any of my world title fights – I intend to win and as the Ambassador for PartyPoker I best not let the side down! I love the new PartyPoker guarantees and hope it will attract a new audience to playing poker online”.
