EPT Stop in Dublin 

The European Poker Tour (EPT) is making a return to Ireland after an absence of eight years when it stops in Dublin this month as part of the season 12 tour. The EPT Dublin Poker Festival begins tomorrow at the RDS in Ballsbridge for both domestic poker fans in Ireland and visiting players from abroad and will last until the 20th February 2016.

As sponsors of the EPT, PokerStars will be making their return to Ireland also, after a two year hiatus. The Dublin event will have 67 events over the course of 12 days with buy-ins ranging from €100 to €25,000. PokerStars affiliated events are always exciting, large-scale affairs which promise to entertain.

Range of Events 

This year’s EPT Dublin event will be the largest PokerStars have ever held in the Irish city. There’ll be events of varying sizes to suit every bankroll, from €100 Flip-outs to a €25,000 High Roller. The Dublin EPT will also have a €10,000 Single Day High Roller, a €5,300 EPT Dublin Main Event and a €1,100 UKIPT Dublin Main Event.

Return to Dublin

When the EPT was just beginning to establish itself in 2004, the tour visited Dublin as its third stop. Well-known English poker player Ram Vaswani won the Main Event when he triumphed over a field 163 players to win €93,000. The last EPT event to take place in Dublin was back in October 2007 when the main event was won by American Reuben Peters who scooped a huge prize of €532,620.

The last time that the PokerStars United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) visited Dublin was back in Season 4, when Kevin Killeen picked up €87,700 in prize money when he topped a field of 682 entrants in the €770 No-Limit Hold’em (NLHE) Main Event preventing Max Silver from becoming a two-time UKIPT champ. This Dublin event promises to be the best yet as far as the EPT is concerned, as they’re pulling out all the stops for the Irish fans. Any interested poker players can win a seat into the Dublin tournament by playing in a live satellites at the event or in online ones on the PokerStars site.
