First UK Unibet Poker Tour Begins in Brighton
Popular online poker site Unibet is kicking off its first ever UK live poker tour this week in Brighton at the Rendezvous Casino from the 12th February. Unibet has never run a live poker series in the UK so 2016 will be the inaugural year of the new tournament.
The brand new live tournament will begin in the English holiday destination and feature a £200+£20 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of £40,000. Attendance is expected to be fairly high, with plenty of recreational poker players looking to score big on the live stage. The Brighton tournament will have three days of live poker action, with the Main Event having a re-entry format allowing players who crash out in Day 1 or 2, to re-enter the final day. Players can also opt to take part in both starting flights and take their largest stack of chips through to the final event on February 14th.
When asked how they felt about hosting the new tour for its first event, the venue director of the Rendezvous Casino commented that, “We were thrilled to get such an overwhelmingly positive response to the poker tournament launch event last month at the Red Lounge. It has set us up as the number one destination for poker in Brighton and the South East. All eyes are now on this weekend’s Unibet Poker main event which features a phenomenal £40,000 guaranteed prizepool. With such high stakes on offer, Rendezvous Casino Brighton will offer the biggest buzz in town.”
Unibet already have a European live poker tour which has proven successful with poker fans across the continent. They aim to spread this live poker experience around the UK by creating a UK poker tour. The tour runs in partnership with Caesars Entertainment UK.
As well as Brighton, the Unibet UK live poker tour will be stopping in several other locations this year. The other dates are as follows:
Alea Casino in Nottingham 15-17 Apr
Alea Casino Glasgow 7-9 Oct
Manchester 235 2-4 Dec
Across the whole season’s tour, there is a guaranteed £200,000 in prize money which should excite casual poker fans. Buy-ins are kept fairly low and affordable.
The Alea Casino in Nottingham is set to be the next venue playing host to the Unibet Poker Tour with this event scheduled for the 15th to the 17th April 2016. Exactly the same as Brighton, the buy-in is £200+£20 and the starting stack is 25,000.
After the Nottingham event, comes the return to the Rendezvous Casino, Brighton from 3rd to the 5th June, then the tour heads to Scotland to the Alea Casino Glasgow (October 7th-9th) before stopping in Manchester in December.
